Olivier Bernstein 2011 Chambertin Clos De Beze Grand Cru

Like the Mazis this is a seriously complex wine with brilliantly layered aromas of spice, earth, dark berries, underbrush, dried floral hints and leather. Moreover the texture of the medium-bodied flavors is ultra-fine yet there is plenty of power and authority, particularly on the mineral-inflected, austere, serious and amazingly persistent finish. The Mazis is excellent but there is quite simply another dimension of depth and length present here.
